Welcome to my blog! Not sure where this journey will take us, but I hope you enjoy my thoughts on tech, policy, and who know what else! I have been watching with great interest the struggles occurring at the intersections of economic development, agriculture, and renewables (to name just a few). The General Assembly bill list contained a plethora of “ideas” ranging from studies to pre-emption all intended to address challenges and opportunities (depending on your vantage point) for the Commonwealth, our future, our economic ecosystem, broadband deployment, the security and capacity of critical infrastructure, and the impacts of each on vastly differing constituencies (rural v. urban).

The questions of what we need, who has the authority to make the rules (Virginia is a Dillon rule state), how we support what we already have, and whether or not to continue policies and programs started YEARS ago seem to draw attention once a year (during the legislative session) and then fade from priority once everyone leaves Richmond…these are REAL issues that deserve year round attention – and there is No Time Like the Present to plan for Virginia’s Future!
